Hustling for worthiness
There’s a common misconception in the time management world that because you calendar your time,
That being productive is morally superior.
Early on in my calendaring days I viewed the days I followed my calendar as Good Days, and me “being Good”,
And the days where I didn't, as me "being Bad".
Let me set the record straight:
You are not better when you follow your calendar.
You are not more worthy when you get things done.
You are not less than when you choose to watch Netflix instead of write your blog post.
You're 100% worthy 100% of the time, regardless of what you do.
When you tell yourself that you are good or bad based on what you do,
You hold your worthiness hostage (ransom: your productivity),
Which means you not only don't get to enjoy your life as much ("I'm just casually, you know, trying to pay this ransom, no biggie")
But you also ironically make yourself LESS productive,
Because you make your calendar adherence mean something about you, so then you believe you can't do it, and you throw out the whole calendar ("well, I can't do it anyways! I'll just give up"),
And also because
Hustling for your worthiness is exhausting - cause it's, you know, impossible.
It's like if you were trying to breathe extra loudly, or wave your arms around frantically, or yell out "I'm alive! I'm alive!" in the streets, just so you can prove to yourself you are alive.
You don't need to do that, you just ARE alive.
Just like you just ARE worthy.
You don't need to prove anything. You don't need to do anything.
Always always always you are worthy.
If you recognized that,
From that place,
Watch your energy for the things you choose to do expand
Watch yourself get so much more done.
With so much more fun and ease.
Because now, you are no longer doing these things to prove to yourself something that you already are,
You're just doing them because you want to.
What if you gave yourself permission to believe you were worthy right now, regardless of what you had accomplished today?
You are.

Ps: If using calendaring sounds boring, tedious, restrictive or exhausting, you are doing it wrong. Learning how to use a calendar can be an incredible act of self love, because it will bring up all your stuff, like this hustling for self-worth, that you can work through, which will then in turn, create the space for you to get more done in a more sustainable and loving way. Work with me and I’ll show you how.
