Minimalism in time management

If you've been following my IG stories, you know that I use minimalism to organize my physical space,

but did you know the same principles apply to your chronological space?

"Chronological space"... omg... <-- me trying to sound smart describing "time" haha

So here we go:

1. Choose a space and let that determine how many items you own.

👠 I decide on a shoe rack and then all my shoes need to fit on it. If they don't fit, I don't get the shoes or get rid of get rid of another pair.

⏰ I decide how much time I want to spend in an area of my life, (ex: # of work hours). All the tasks I plan must fit in that time frame. If they don't, I don't try and cram them all in, or tell myself my "time rack" was too small (I mean...I'm the one that chose it after all...). Instead I move the additional tasks to the following week or switch out another scheduled task.

2. Give your things a "home".

👠 Only my shoes live on my shoe rack. Sometimes I'll put my handbag there and then I need to remind myself that my bag already has a place it lives (my closet), so when I realize, I move it to the closet.

⏰ I only do the task that's on my schedule. Sometimes during a work-focussed block, I'll go on social media. But then I remind myself that my social media block already has a time scheduled for later, and so I direct my focus back to my work block.

3. Only keep what you use.

👠 I want to keep all the shiny uncomfortable stilettos I bought because "what if??" (even though I never actually wear them). They just remind me of how much money I spent on them and how I "should" wear them so it's not a waste, but since I don't, I just end up feeling kind of shitty. Maybe later I'll start going to fancy events and want some then, but right now, it's ok to admit to myself that I'm not using them, and toss them, so I can make room for shoes I actually would use.

⏰ There are a bunchhhh of habits I want to add to my calendar, because I feel like I "should" (meditating for an hour in the morning for one). But I'm working on nailing a bunch of other habits and truthful am not really committed to this hour long practice. Right now it's ok for me to remove it from my calendar until I'm ready to do actually commit.

Learn to constrain and commit and watch yourself do way more stuff than when you were over complicating and over scheduling your life.

You've got this, Beautiful <3

Alana

PS: All of this stuff is super simple. Why are you not doing? It has nothing to do with you, your worth or your abilities. It's because you have a dick brain telling you "we don't have enough time", or "there's too much to do", or "you'll never get it done" or "we need to do more". I get it, I have one too, I just don't let it run my life, and I want to show you how. Seriously, what are you waiting for: What if you said yes to this free 60 min consult and it changed your life?
