Social Media Addiction Update

Hello World!

It’s been two weeks since I confronted my social media addiction head on.

And you know what?

My desire to go on Facebook and Instagram, though still present, now feels completely manageable. It’s crazy to think that two weeks ago, I couldn’t go anywhere without my phone, and would jump to attention with excitement (and probably even a little bit of desperation) every time it buzzed. This weekend I went to visit my parents and didn’t feel the need to check even once. NOT EVEN ONCE!!

I can’t even describe how amazing and empowering it feels to retrain my brain to get dopamine hits from accomplishments rather than likes. Or to be able to spend time with my family with full attention instead of half there and half on my phone. Or to go to bed on time because I’m not scrolling away into the night looking at goth makeup (I’m not even interested in goth makeup, but somehow that’s where I ended up?)

If this is something you struggle with also, I would love for you to reach out to me. Honestly, if I can go from literally having a sore thumb from excessive scrolling to this point, you for sure can, too!
