Why You Waste Time

When I was eight, I got this amazing book. It had pictures and explanation of all the cute, tiny things you could make out of clay, and it came with it's little set of coloured clay samples. I was obsessed with it. Every day I would look at it and dream about what I would make. Maybe a little fruit bowl, or a little sausage dog, or a little cake. But I never did, I told myself I didn't have enough clay, so I really had to make sure to choose carefully. A couple of years (!!) later I was ready... And the clay had dried up.

This is a funny (but actually still kind of sad for me!) story, but it's what many of us do with our time.

We say things like:

"There isn't enough time."

And then we end up wasting it because of that.

But here's the truth:

There ISN'T too much or too little time.

There's just the amount of time that there is.

This is really important to understand, because when we have a scarcity mindset, we usually create more scarcity:

We think we don't have time, which creates stress and overwhelm, which makes us spin around doing a bunch of things ineffectually, or thinking about how we still haven't done XYZ, or try and escape those feelings with social media...

...and we ultimately prove to ourselves, "yes, SEE, there really ISN'T enough time."

But all that happened is that we created that "evidence" ourselves by believing there wasn't enough time.

Stop doing this to yourself.

Stop letting your precious clay dry out.

Decide instead you have all the time you need.

Focus on the time you actually have, and make clear and intentional decisions based on that information.

What if it were true that you had exactly the amount of time you needed to truly get everything you wanted done?

You're amazing and you've got this.

PS: I know it's easier said than done. You have your Primitive Brain with its instinctual drive to keep you stuck, not to mention societal programming that equates productivity with worth to contend with. But I've got you. Hit reply to schedule a 60 minute consult with me where I will show you why what you have been doing hasn't been working, and then give you a super clear plan on how to create more time and use it intentionally to create the life you dream about. Listen, you can always buy more clay, but you can't buy more time. Let me show you how to create more of it.
