One of the Most Important Skills for Growth

I made a commitment to do an Instagram live every weekday for 30 days because it absolutely terrifies me and I want to grow.

It's already Day 4, and it's becoming easier and easier. By Day 30, I know I will have a totally different relationship with creating lives, and more importantly, with myself.

The reason I was able to start is because I decided it was something I wanted to learn, and I didn't wait to feel confident before I started.

I allowed and am allowing myself to feel scared, vulnerable, insecure, awkward, nervous and anxious, while I show up.

Learning how to allow negative emotions is one of the most important skills you can develop to create the most amazing life you can dream of.

Think of it, if you were willing to feel ANYTHING, there's NOTHING that could stop you.

Because really what keeps us stuck and unable to take action is the fear of a feeling.

"I might look stupid" <-- don't want to feel embarrassed

"I might fail" <-- don't want to feel defeated

"I might lose all my money" <-- don't want to feel scarcity

Whatever your mind offers you as a reason you shouldn't do something, you can always trace it back to a feeling you don't want to experience.

But the crazy thing is, we fear these feelings so much, but the worst things they do is just create discomfort in our bodies.

If you were willing to feel it and take action anyways, you could literally do whatever you wanted.

So how do you develop this skill:

1. Set aside some time - even 5 minutes. Set a timer.

2. Close your eyes, take a deep breath.

3. Describe out loud the vibrations that you are experiencing in your body - you can use location, temperature, movement, colour, texture, pressure, etc.

ex: there is a squeezing in my chest, it's pulsating in waves, it's staying in my chest. There is also a buzzing in my head, it's hot.

4. Welcome it: Hello (emotion).

5. Keep feeling it until it subsides, understanding that you are safe.

Keeping showing up for yourself, you deserve it.

Love,

Alana
