How do you see yourself?
Are you a constant work in progress?
I used to see my body the way plastic surgeons do,
drawing dashes and X’s over it in my mind:
My hair is not smooth enough.
I wish my eyes were another colour.
My body is the wrong shape.
I used to see my personality like that too:
I’m not interesting enough.
I wish I had more confidence.
My personality is wrong.
And that’s also how I saw my life:
It’s not exciting enough.
I wish I had more friends.
My life is wrong.
Because I believed:
I’m not enough.
I wish I was different.
I’m wrong.
Do you see the pattern here?
We hear our brain offer us thoughts and we bring those same thoughts patterns with us to the different areas of our life.
Because in all areas of our life, we bring the same brain.
But here’s the good news:
These thoughts are exactly that,
JUST thoughts.
And changing them in one area, changes them in all areas.
You can change your entire experience of your body, your perception of yourself and your life by changing your thoughts.
Just changing one has a huge ripple effect.
It doesn’t even matter where you start.
And let me just give you a spoiler:
YOU ARE ENOUGH.
YOU ARE PERFECT THE WAY YOU ARE.
YOU ARE JUST RIGHT.
